One Of The Retired Racers, Pertamina Mandalika And Tom Luthi's Cooperation Ends In Valencia

JAKARTA - The collaboration between Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team and Tom Luthi will end at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia, Sunday because one of the senior riders in the Moto2 class will retire from the racing event that has catapulted his name.

The last race of the Swiss racer will even be witnessed directly by the senior officials of the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team, namely Pertamina Mandalika President, Rapsel Ali, and Team Director Kemalsyah Nasution.

"Today is Tom's last race and he feels proud this season to join the Pertamina Mandalika team", said Rapsel Ali as quoted by Antara, Sunday.

"His performance so far in Moto2 Valencia is also very good during qualifying. Hopefully, this trend can continue during the race", he continued.

In the qualifying round, Tom managed to occupy the sixth position. As a result, he will start the Valencia Moto2 race from the second row. Tom Luthi posted a time of 1 minute 35.091 seconds or 0.135 seconds at odds with pole position winner Simone Corsi.

Starting in the sixth position, of course, Tom Luthi has a great chance of undergoing his last race in the Moto2 class on a positive note.

Regarding the target in the race, Tom Luthi said anything can happen. He referred to his success in finishing sixth during qualifying even though during free practice it was fairly normal.

"Everything is possible during the race. Like today when everything turned 180 degrees from free practice to qualifying. For sure, the Pertamina Mandalika team has done a very good job", said Luthi.

Meanwhile, Tom Luthi's teammate, Bo Bendsneyder will start the Valencia Moto2 race from 22nd position. As for the Indonesian racer who performed with the wildcard, Dimas Ekky from 29th.
