JAKARTA - The GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 automotive exhibition organized by the Indonesian Motor Vehicle Industry Association (GAIKINDO) successfully attracted the attention of the public and automotive enthusiasts in the country.

This enthusiasm is inseparable from the launch of many new vehicles and the presence of various world-renowned automotive brands. Chairman of GAIKINDO, Putu Juli Ardika, emphasized that the positive achievement of GIIAS 2026 in moving the national automotive sector is the result of synergy between the government and all stakeholders.

"GAIKINDO appreciates the Government of the Republic of Indonesia for its support for the implementation of GIIAS 2026. The presence and direct support from government officials are very valuable positive signals for business climate certainty and the development of the national automotive industry," said Putu in an official statement received, Wednesday (12/8/2026).

According to him, the GAIKINDO meeting with a number of state officials during the GIIAS 2026 also became an important momentum. On this occasion, GAIKINDO was able to convey a number of strategic issues faced by the automotive industry to be a common concern.

In addition, the association also receives direct guidance from government officials to maintain sustainability and improve the competitiveness of the automotive industry in the country.

For the success of the implementation of GIIAS 2026, Putu also expressed his appreciation to the public for their high enthusiasm during the exhibition.

"Not to forget, we also thank the extraordinary enthusiasm of the public who continue to fill the exhibition area during the 11 days of the exhibition. This is certainly proof that the Indonesian automotive industry has its own place in the hearts of the public and of course it is the needed impetus to continue to grow," said Putu.

Featured Program to Attract Visitors

Held at ICE BSD City, Tangerang Regency, GIIAS 2026 recorded a number of new achievements through a larger and more complete implementation.

This year's exhibition was attended by more than 65 world-renowned automotive brands, consisting of 43 passenger car brands, seven commercial vehicle brands, 13 motorcycle brands, and five bodywork companies.

GIIAS 2026 is also strengthened by the participation of more than 150 supporting industry brands that present various latest technologies and products for the automotive industry.

Chairman of the Daily and Chairman of the Exhibition and Conference Organizer GAIKINDO, Anton Kumonty, expressed his pride in the high public response throughout the exhibition.

"The special thing this year, based on the data we received, is the increase in the length of time spent visiting the exhibition area. The presence of more and more complete brand choices, as well as 37 new vehicles launched at GIIAS this time, encourages visitors to spend more time, so that all brands have the same opportunity to be greeted and visited. However, the aspect of visitor comfort and safety remains our main focus," said Anton.

GIIAS 2026 recorded 496,378 visitors who attended directly to witness the latest products and innovations of the automotive industry. The average time spent by visitors in all exhibition areas reached around five hours.

One of the main attractions that makes visitors feel at home in the exhibition area is the test drive facility. The presence of more brands and the latest vehicle lines has encouraged vehicle test activities to increase significantly.

Throughout the GIIAS 2026, test drive activities were recorded to increase by around 30 percent compared to the previous year, with a total of more than 26,000 trips made by visitors.

In addition to test drives, various interesting activities and interactions presented by each participant at the booth also provide a different experience for visitors and become one of the reasons they spend more time in the exhibition area.

Demonstrating the development of automotive technology is indeed one of the main objectives of GIIAS. However, various activities during the exhibition are also expected to have a positive impact on the national automotive market.

GAIKINDO is also optimistic that the 2026 GIIAS will again contribute to the growth of the automotive industry in the country.

"Seeing the high enthusiasm of visitors every day and the reports we received from participants, we believe that GIIAS 2026 will again have a positive impact on all exhibitors. We also hope that this achievement can meet the expectations of all parties, from sponsors to partners, so that it becomes a positive record for the growth of the national automotive industry," said Anton.
