JAKARTA - Cars with hybrid powertrains are increasingly in demand in the national automotive market, and Motul Indonesia sees this opportunity by being ready to penetrate the four-wheel segment.

Managing Director of Motul Indonesia, Welmart Purba, said almost all major automotive players are already playing in the hybrid segment, and in the next 2-3 years, the growth will definitely be big.

"Electric car subsidies have been stopped, (it is estimated) EVs will slow down and (cars) hybrids will boom. So Motul will also focus on playing in the hybrid (four-wheel) segment," he said, when met in the Jakarta area, Thursday, December 19.

This French lubricant brand is ready to launch various products ranging from engine oil with several viscosity options, to several other things such as brake oil and much more.

"Motul is ready for all products in the line-up, both New Generation engine oil," he added.

Furthermore, he said, the product is ready to be marketed. Currently, Motul is only waiting for the administrative process in the form of a Registered Lubricant Number (NPT).

"The product is ready and ready, just wait for the NPT. Maybe in January or February we will launch," he said.

However, he did not detail the details of the product, but it is certain that Motul hybrid lubricants have differences compared to lubricants for conventional internal combustion engines.

"There is a little difference in its composition. For example, the smaller engine room volume means that it no longer needs to be large. This means that it requires less viscosity, because it already shares it with the battery," he concluded.
