Taste the Suzuki XL7 Facelift at GIIAS 2026: Comfortable and Features Make Driving Calm

JAKARTA - PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) officially presents the Suzuki XL7 Facelift with a number of updates that make this seven-passenger SUV look more modern while improving driving comfort. Although the changes do not significantly touch the engine sector, the addition of new features is the main selling point of the latest model.

In terms of exterior, Suzuki has given a new touch to the fog lights, shark fin antenna, rim design, bumper, to the front grille. These changes are indeed minor, but they give a fresh impression and follow the current vehicle design trend.

VOI's editorial staff also had the opportunity to try the latest XL7 with this Alpha Hybrid variant at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 test drive area. Entering the cabin, the XL7 Facelift is now equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen head unit that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Suzuki also attaches the latest 360-degree camera, Digital Video Recorder (DVR), and updates the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) feature to improve the safety and comfort of users. The presence of DVR is one of the features that attract attention and make driving more calm.

This device is capable of recording video with 1.5K High Definition resolution and a viewing angle of up to 120 degrees. All recordings will be automatically saved through the loop recording feature, while the G-Sensor will lock the video file when it detects a collision so that it is not deleted by new recordings.

In terms of performance, the Suzuki XL7 Facelift still retains the K15B 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 103.2 hp of power and 138 Nm of torque. For the mild hybrid variant, the engine is combined with Suzuki's Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) technology.

All power is channeled through a choice of five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. When driven, even though it is not the SUV with the most power in its class, the performance offered feels adequate and sufficient for daily mobility needs and trips outside the city with the family.

SHVS technology also contributes to fuel efficiency. This system allows the engine to automatically turn off when the vehicle stops, so that fuel consumption can be suppressed when faced with traffic jams.

As long as the engine is not active, the vehicle's electrical system continues to work with battery support. In terms of comfort, the testing is indeed carried out for a limited time.

However, when passing through various obstacles, including speed bumps on the GIIAS 2026 test drive track, the XL7 suspension character feels quite comfortable and not too hard. The damping produced is considered able to provide more comfort when crossing bumpy roads or used for long-distance travel.

The Suzuki XL7 Facelift is marketed in three variants, namely Zeta, Beta Hybrid, and Alpha Hybrid. The Jakarta on the road price starts from Rp. 274.3 million to Rp. 329.7 million.
