JAKARTA - PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor (SIM) said that its two newest export models, Suzuki Fronx and Suzuki Satria, have a fairly high level of domestic components (TKDN). Therefore, both of them are of their own pride in exporting to the ASEAN region.

SIM President Director Minoru Amano explained that Fronx has a domestic component content of around 63 percent, while Satria reaches around 82 percent.

"Every unit we send to foreign markets is a representation of industrial competence and confidence in the quality of Indonesian workers," said Minuru Amano in Cikarang during the export ceremony of the two vehicles yesterday.

He added that more than 800 companies and thousands of employees were involved in the supply chain of the two models. Of that number, around 32 percent are Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The involvement of MSMEs shows that SIMs not only rely on large suppliers, but also drive the small-middle businesses sector in supporting export activities. SIMs have been carrying out vehicle export activities since 1993, with a total of more than 800 thousand cars and 1.5 million motorcycles shipped to more than 100 countries.

This year, the company targets the export of around 40 thousand units of cars and 30 thousand units of motorcycles. With the achievement of the TKDN, SIM considers that the production process carried out in Indonesia has met global standards and is able to answer export market needs.
