TANGERANG - Women are increasingly showing their role in various aspects of life, including behind the wheel and in caring for vehicles. In fact, not only are they good at driving cars, but also increasingly caring and educated about machine maintenance, surpassing the old stereotypes that consider technical matters to be the realm of men alone.

These signatures not only limit women's space in the automotive world, but also ignore many inspirational figures who are actually able to prove their competence. One of them is Diva Zahra, a sprint rally driver who was present to break the stigma through her work on track and concern for vehicle performance.

"The world of rally is still dominated by men, so sometimes we have to work twice harder to get recognition. But that's precisely what makes me more enthusiastic. The biggest challenge is to prove that women can also be competitive, tough, and have equally great skills on track," said Diva, in a talk show with the theme 'It's Time for Women to Take Over Steering', at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Tuesday, July 29.

According to Diva, female stereotypes do not need to understand that car engine is a big mistake. His experience on track actually strengthens the belief that understanding vehicle needs is not only a technical matter, but also part of awareness and concern as a driver.

"We must know the suitable lubricant, the appropriate fuel, and how to care for the car we use every day. It's not only a technical matter, but also a form of responsibility and self-empowerment," Diva added.

He also shared the story of treading the world of rally, from his childhood that was attached to the off-road world to finally feeling adrenaline on track as a racer, to how he learned to understand the car he was using not only on racing track, but also in everyday life.

On the same occasion, Pertamina Fastron Brand Manager Rinda Raharjo, said that education about vehicles needs to be accessed by women from all walks of life and backgrounds, without exception.

"We believe that understanding of vehicles does not only belong to technicians or racers. We want to invite more female consumers to feel comfortable and confident when talking about their car needs," explained Rinda.

More than that, Rinda highlighted that many women in Pertamina have proven their abilities in various fields, ranging from formulators in product research and development, oil analysts, to professionals involved in brand strategies and business development.

Pertamina Fastron has also supported various national racers such as Diva Zahra, and Febriana Dewi, a slalom racer. This shows that the lubricant or automotive industry also opens up wide career opportunities for women.
