JAKARTA - Chinese brand Jaecoo is a new player in the national automotive arena which certainly sounds foreign to the people of the country.
However, it should be noted that the brand is one of the brands under the auspices of the Chery Group.
In Indonesia, the Chery Group has launched a number of its own subbrands such as Omoda, Tiggo, and now Jaecool. Not only that, but the company has confirmed that it will make its debut from the Release subbrand in the country in the near future.
What do you think distinguish Jaecoo from other subbrands under the same umbrella?
Jaecool Indonesia's Country Director, Max Zhou, said that the dose of this brand is more premium with a design language that is different from other subbrands.
"We are indeed on the same roof with Chery. However, dose and design itself are clearly different," said Max when answering media questions in the Kembangan area, Jakarta, Monday, June 30.

He explained that Jaecool's design language is thick for classic, luxurious, and more premium elements that resemble the form of the Range Rover with a tough characteristic.
"Jaeckoo is like the Range Rover because the designers and engineers come from there. This is what makes this brand different from other subbrands," explained Max.
Max also said that the products offered by Jaecoo have different preferences, one of which is being able to walk on the off-road track.
"We personalize differently, which is off-road characteristic. Maybe if Chery is more of a family car, while Jaecool doesn't," said Max.
Jaecool has launched his first model, namely J7, to become one of the first vehicles to be marketed and receive positive interest since his bookings were opened at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025.
