Wuling Celebrates Global Production Of 3 Million Electric Car Units, Indonesia Donates 40 Thousand Units

Jakarta - Wuling made a new history in the automotive industry, both globally and in Indonesia. At the global level, Wuling has succeeded in producing 3 million electric cars, of which as many as 40 thousand units are contributions from the Wuling factory in Cikarang, West Java.

In addition, Wuling also introduced a locally assembled MAGIC Battery. This moment is also proof of Wuling's strategy consistency and commitment in the development of the EV ecosystem in the country.

Vice President of Wuling Motors Arif Pramadana, said that Wuling celebrates three milestones together both globally and in Indonesia.

"With the achievements, it has become evidence of Wuling's ability to encourage technological innovation, support global quality sustainability and consistency for the EV segment," he said, in his official statement received, Monday, May 26.

The Chinese brand claims that the company recorded a new history as the first Chinese automotive producer to reach the production figure of 3 million EV units. Wuling's ability to produce millions of EV units was the result of his leadership in the global automotive industry for more than 20 years.

During that period, Wuling also recorded 1.5 million sales globally, or equivalent to 50 percent of sales of new electric vehicles (NEV) in the world. This achievement is a tangible manifestation of Wuling's ability to lead driving transformation, as well as show its commitment to realizing environmentally friendly, safe, and high quality automotive technology.

Indonesia also has a big role in Wuling's achievement, where as many as 40,000 of the total global EV production comes from the Cikarang factory which acts as a production center, or hub, for the local market and ASEAN, as well as countries with right steering. Especially for Indonesia, the presence of Wuling production facilities proves Indonesia's capacity as a producer and part of the international supply chain. In addition, the Wuling facility complements the local EV ecosystem to accelerate the achievement of national sustainability goals through vehicle electrification, as well as increasing the mobility of Indonesian people by presenting good quality vehicles.

"Wuling in Indonesia is also the first Chinese automotive manufacturer to localize EV battery assembly in Indonesia. Of course, the presence of this facility realizes an integrated EV production system that accelerates the manufacture of vehicle units, shortens the distribution time of spare parts, and reduces the logistics costs for the delivery of spare parts. Thus, EV consumers are free to worry about owning Wuling's electric car," he added.
