Leapmotor Will Be Present In Indonesia This Year Under Naungan Indomobil

JAKARTA - PT Indomobil Nation Distributor which houses the Citroen and Jeep brands will add one more brand in Indonesia, the brand in question, the Leapmotor brand from China.

This assurance was revealed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT Indomobil Nation Distributor Tan Kim Piauw. He revealed that he has currently established communication with various brands in the Stellantis group.

"We hope that in the near future we can introduce a new brand to the Indonesian market," he said, when met in the Cikini area, Jakarta, Monday, March 17.

He further said that currently everything had been prepared and was just waiting for the right time for the inauguration of the brand (Leapmotor).

Tan Kim Piauw, also revealed that currently Indomobil is targeting to introduce at least not a new brand in the Stellantis ecosystem in Indonesia, and now there is Citroen and Jeep.

So when will the Leapmotor brand officially enter Indonesia?

"Hopefully in Gaikindo we can launch (Leapmotor," he added.

It is very likely that Leapmotor will officially enter the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Motor Show (GIIAS) which will take place in the middle of this year.

Already roaming the street

As previously reported by VOI, there is a model from Leapmotor who was caught on camera and is already in Indonesia. You can see an electric car from Leapmotor T03 charging a battery with a Jakarta number plate. Will it be the first model to be brought to Indonesia?

In specifications, this urban car has a length dimension of 3,620 mm, a width of 1,652 mm and a height of 1,605 mm with a wheelbase of 2,400 mm.

Referring to specifications in China, T03 is equipped with an e-motor of 40 kW, 55 kW, and 80 kW as well as a choice of 21.6 kWh, 31.9 kWh, and 41.3 kWh batteries, which can cover a distance of 200 to 403 km. Regarding prices in the country of origin, this car is priced from 49,900 to 69,900 yuan or around Rp. 111 million to Rp. 156 million.
