JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) said that although it has not been even two months since its launch, there have been 1,028,070 participants who have participated in the Free Health Check Program (CKG) as of March 20, 2025.
Head of the Communication and Public Information Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Aji Muhawarman, said that the high participation of the community in this program shows an increasing awareness of the importance of health checks.
"Within more than a month, the number of participants who take advantage of the free health check service has crossed the number of one million. We are optimistic that the target of 280 million Indonesians to undergo this health check can be achieved," said Aji as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 21.
Based on temporary data obtained from the CKG Program, it was found that a number of public health conditions, including 25.6 percent of blood pressure was above normal, 30.5 percent were overweight, 27.1 percent of blood sugar was abnormal, and 50.8 percent had dental caries.
From the measurement of the Body Period Index (IMT), he continued, it was also known that the normal ones were 64.7 percent, the underweight was 4.7 percent, and the rest was overweight and obesity.
"Blood pressure checks and dental examinations are carried out on individuals aged 18 years and over, while blood sugar checks are carried out on participants starting at the age of 2 years and over," he said.
He also appealed to people who know about their health conditions to immediately take steps to prevent and handle them early.
"We invite the public to start improving their living behavior by consuming nutritious food, routine physical activities, and not smoking. For those who need medical follow-up, they will be referred to further health facilities and take advantage of BPJS Health services," he said.

Aji emphasized that the CKG Program is part of the government's strategy to increase public awareness of the importance of regular health checks to find out more early individual health conditions.
"This health check is a preventive step. We hope that this awareness will increase, so that in the future the community will independently routinely carry out health checks without having to wait for a program from the government," he said.
He assessed that the CKG Program is one of the largest initiatives ever carried out by the Ministry of Health. With the coverage of more than 280 million people, this program is expected to improve the quality of public health as a whole.
"Through CKG, people get access to various health checks that are important for early detection and disease prevention," said Aji.
