Prabowo Asks Cabinet Staff To Improve Communication To The Public

President Prabowo Subianto gave directions to the ranks of ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet as well as to the head of the agency in the Plenary Cabinet Session/ANTARA

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto ordered ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet to improve their communication to the public.

The reason is that the President assesses that government communication to the public, especially regarding policies and government breakthroughs, is still not perfect and intensive.

"Maybe it's because of the many initiatives, the number of our breakthroughs, the number of our policies, maybe narratives to the people, maybe less perfect, less intensive. I think we need to improve our communication to the people," said President Prabowo when giving directions at the Plenary Cabinet Session reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 21.

Apart from that, the President still praised the performance of the ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet along with the heads of agencies. "I am frankly very impressed by the many policies that we can issue in a short time, and this is because of the hard work of the ministers, deputy ministers, heads of agencies," said President Prabowo.

The President also reminded his staff to accept all input from the public, including criticisms given by the community. The President reminded the government not to be pitted against the people.

"We overcome differences with deliberation. We accept criticism with great heart, but we don't want to be pitted against each other. We have to work well for our people," Prabowo said.

The President again held the Plenary Cabinet Session on Friday afternoon, attended by all ranks of ministers, deputy ministers, heads of agencies, and special envoys of the President. During the event, the President was accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The president at the beginning of his directive said that this afternoon's cabinet meeting discussed a lot of government preparations for homecoming, backflow, and Eid holidays, one of which was related to maintaining food stocks and food prices.

"One of the main things, what I have to say is that during these months especially during Ramadan and before Eid al-Fitr, our food conditions are quite under control," said the President.

Prabowo said the government's success should not be taken lightly, because Indonesia is the country with the fourth largest population in the world.

"For years we have always been worried about our food safety. We are always worried that we have to import. Thank God this year the production is very good, and I am monitoring the prices to this day under control," said Prabowo.
