JAKARTA - PT JIO Distribution Indonesia brought the BAIC brand to Indonesia in the middle of last year by bringing two leading SUV units, such as BJ40 and X 55 II.
In his debut in the national automotive industry last year, this Chinese manufacturer managed to obtain 200 units in a five-month period in the Indonesian market. This also solidifies the company's steps to navigate the market by 2025.
BAIC Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer, Dhani Yahya, said that his party is targeting to sell 2,400 units for 12 months this year.
"We have a target of more than 2,400 units this year. Last year 200 units have been sold, but we have only been present for five months, meaning the mathematical calculation is one month and 50 units," said Dhani when met by the media on the sidelines of the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025, Tuesday, February 18.

Dhani added that his party is optimistic about achieving this target because it will present more new models for the needs of the Indonesian market, such as BJ30 Hybrid to BJ80 as a flagship of all BAIC ranks.
"In August we will bring BJ30, BJ41, and BJ80 which we are working on. So, there will be five units in Indonesia," added Dhani.
Currently, BAIC Indonesia only sells two products for the Indonesian market consisting of BJ40 Plus which focuses on offroad performance and X55 II as urban mobility vehicles. Debut in July 2024, BAIC launched BJ40 Plus at a price of IDR 783 million and X55 II worth IDR 487 million.
This manufacturer from China has also brought BJ80 to Indonesia, but it still cannot be sold because it is still carrying the left steering configuration. It is estimated that the large SUV is priced above Rp1 billion.
