This important achievement was shared directly by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun on the X and Weibo pages. He revealed that the achievement occurred only 230 days after the SU7 electric sedan had a futuristic design launched.

"As a newcomer to the automotive industry, this speed is already incredible," Lei wrote on Weibo.

The Beijing-based company previously officially announced it was taking part in making cars in March 2021, and officially launched its first model in March 2024.

The electric sedan, which became the first electric car from Xiaomi, was offered in three variants, and went on sale in the price range 215,900 yuan or around Rp473 million. Xiaomi continues to innovate by announcing pre-sales of the SU7 Ultra model which is much more expensive.

Xiaomi is expected to meet the target of 100,000 cumulative SU7 series deliveries ahead of schedule in November, and the company will change its target of only 120,000 shipments for a full year by 2024.
