Tesla Reportedly Will Produce The Latest Model Y In Shanghai Gigafactory October 2024

Rumors about the presence of the latest Tesla Model Y are in the spotlight, especially regarding the news of production which will begin in Shanghai Gigafactory, China.

Citing a report from Carnewschina, Monday, October 21, a blogger from China revealed that the production of the latest Tesla Model Y will begin on October 22. This information certainly adds to the enthusiasm of Tesla fans who have been waiting for the new model.

The blog also mentions that production in Shanghai Gigafactory will start with a volume of 12 units per day. The Y-model to be produced is equipped with a 95 kWh capacity battery. In terms of design, the front of the car is similar to the Tesla Model 3 Highlands, while the backlight adopts a transparent design like Tesla Cybertruck's.

Although production will begin soon, the latest Tesla Model Y official launch is predicted not to occur in 2024, but is postponed to 2025. This further makes automotive lovers curious, considering that this model is expected to bring various significant updates.

Previously, blogger SE Robinson, Jr. had shared uploads on platform X in early September, showing the figure of the Tesla Model Y which is still disguised in Palo Alto, California, USA. However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has often denied rumors related to the launch of the latest Model Y, so official confirmation of this matter is still being awaited, especially regarding the production in Shanghai Gigafactory which is widely discussed.

But if that's true, it is possible that the Tesla Model Y, which will be produced in Shanghai Gigafactory, will only be marketed domestically in China considering the applicability of the increase in electric car import rates from China to the United States and the European Union (EU), which is a protective measure taken by the US and EU governments.
