Ford Will Release New Medium Size Electric Pickup, Ford Ranger EV?

JAKARTA - Ford is predicted to release the Ranger EV in 2027 referring to the company's statement that it has hinted at it. Ford said that the first affordable vehicle from the new platform was an electric pickup.

In a press release, Ford confirmed a model map of electric vehicles in the United States would include a two new pickup truck' and a commercial van, while a three-line electric SUV would not be pure electric but would use a hybrid powertrain because the cost of the battery was huge.

"The first affordable vehicle from this new platform is an intermediate-sized electric pickup launched in 2027 which is expected to serve customers who want more money, more reach, more utilities, more usefulness," the company said in a statement, based on a report from Top Gear PH, quoted Wednesday, August 28.

Although it is not explained in more detail that the 'Ford Ranger EV', but refers to a medium-sized pickup that could lead to the Ford Ranger.

The Ford Ranger is currently taking steps towards electrification via the plug in hybrid (PHEV) model first featured in September last year, and production will begin later this year.

The plan, the launch of the PHEV from the Ford Ranger will begin in 2025. Unfortunately, there are no detailed specifications about this one car. However, it is rumored that it will use a 2.3 liter turbo EcoBoost engine paired with batteries to achieve the 45 kilometer electric range target.
