860 Units Of Mazda CX-60 And CX-90 Withdrawn In Australia Due To This Problem

JAKARTA - Bad news came from Mazda who had to withdraw or recall, 860 units of CX-60 and CX-90 2023-2024 models.

Based on a report from local media Drive, Tuesday, August 6, the problem of recalling the models mentioned above was due to a problem with the transmission control software.

The report revealed that the vehicle affected by the recall was given a model stamp from 2023 to 2024, however, the model in question could be sold for possible days.

"Due to the software issue on the transmission control module, if the brake pedal is strongly pressed to stop the vehicle, the coupling to the engine and electric motor may remain detached during the slowdown, if that happens, the power from the engine or electric motor cannot be channeled when the accelerator pedal is pressed," the local Infrastructure Department said in a statement.

The local department also revealed the effects of the problem, even the worst risk could cause death to vehicle passengers and other road users.

"If power is not channeled from the engine or electric motor when the accelerator pedal is pressed, this could increase the risk of serious injury or death for vehicle passengers and other road users," the statement read.

Responding to the above concerns, the owner of the affected vehicle will be contacted by Mazda Australia and will schedule a meeting at the customer-choice Mazda dealer to improve the calibration of the transmission control module for free.
