Have The #1 And #3 Models, Smart Reveals The Reason There Is No Named #2 Model

TANGERANG - Smart now presents two models sold globally, namely #1 and #3. Both are SUV-style models with compact designs but have a fairly spacious cabin space. The question is why manufacturers don't have the #2 model yet?

Well, VOI had the opportunity to confirm this to the Global Chief Marketing Officer Smartpulling Zhang. He said that his party had kept this name for future models.

"To be honest, we keep it in the future. We are currently doing a lot of studies on this," Zhang said when answering questions from VOI in the Tangerang area, Thursday, July 18.

Although he did not mention the launch date,odes hope to present the model in the future and can reverse 2-seater cars such as the Fortwo model in the past.

"We hope to have it soon or one day and we can turn the 2-seater car in electrification for urban areas," added kolot.

This is similar to what VOI previously reported. Smart opens up opportunities to present the latest EV known as the successor to the tiny-dimensional Fortwo.

Smart European CEO Dirk Adelmann, said that his party was working on the model as a successor to Fortwo.

"Fortwo was turned off two months ago. It would be great if this model had a successor, we were looking at it," Adelmann was quoted as saying by Autocar, Tuesday, July 16.

Adelmann added that Fortwo's successor will be very good because demand for compact-dimensional city cars is so high, especially the European market.

The proposal regarding this vehicle already exists and will be named 'Project 2' internally. It is possible that this model will be named #2 when produced. Of course this has the potential to cause confusion because its size is much more compact than #1.

Adelmann added that the manufacturer has prepared number 2 in a planned manner because this is an iconic number of this brand and makes a lot of sense to use for Fortwo's successors.

However, Smart is now trying to bring it to the production phase so that it can be sold in a profitable way.

In order to smooth out the plan, the brand is looking for partner companies to share development and production costs.
