JAKARTA - Geely, an automotive manufacturer from China officially launched the latest lithium-iron phosphate battery for upcoming electric vehicles. This technology is claimed to have a driving range of up to 1 million km and can last up to 50 years.

Reporting from Carscoops, Thursday, July 4, the battery is equipped with an enhanced diaphragm to increase energy and security density.

It uses multi-element-doped electrodes to significantly reduce the rate of internal chemical reactions, which the company claims as one of the main reasons these new types of batteries can offer longer lifetimes.

A manufacturer based in Hangzhou, China, says that the battery can be charged 3,500 times or the equivalent of 1 million km of driving. Longer life will not only help the remaining value of used electric vehicles, but Geely says this will reduce carbon emissions by more than 80,000 tons per year.

Thus, these battery cells have a capacity of up to 192hubs/kg and about 40 percent shorter than conventional blaze batteries, which makes them look concise.

Not only offering impressive coverage, but the battery also has faster charging capabilities. In a test comparing short and long battery with the same capacity, it shows that short packets are capable of charging more effectively.

This is evidenced when charging 10-80 percent, a short battery can charge within 17 minutes 4 seconds while a long package takes 26 minutes.

In addition, the battery long-barreled capacity retention fell to 78.96 percent at a temperature of minus 30 degrees Celsius while the short-bar maintained 90.54 percent of its capacity at the same conditions.

Geely also claims the battery can be safe if a cell leaks. If this happens, the aluminum foil layer will automatically integrate into the battery diaphragm to create an isolation layer that prevents short circuits and thermalization.

During the test, the battery was stabbed with eight 5mm steel needles simultaneously and left for 1 hour by leaving without any adverse effects. Geely also fired the battery with a 5.8mm bullet and did not experience a thermal malfunction.

Not only that, this battery passed several tests by soaking into the sea water, then throwing it into the fire, placed in a very cold, hit environment, hit by an object weighing 26 tons, and scratched.

Unfortunately, this brand has not disclosed what model will adopt the latest battery. But with this innovation, there is no need to worry about EV users' safety and durability in battery components.
