With A Rental System, Toyota BZ4X Sales Soared Drastically In The Last Two Months In The US

Toyota only has one pure electric vehicle (EV) model called bZ4X. Diplot became the backbone of the brand in the EV segment since 2022, this crossover was able to obtain good global sales results including the last two months in the United States (US).

Reporting from InsideEVs, Wednesday, June 12, monthly sales in April reached 4,958 units or 545 percent higher when compared to last year's achievement in the same month with 734 units. Meanwhile, in May, this Japanese manufacturer managed to sell 1,260 units, an increase of 106.2 percent from last year's achievement which sold only 611 units last year in the same period.

It is estimated that the car sales jumped due to the latest rental deals in April and May. Not only on EVs, this also applies to Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) models.

In the last two months, Toyota bZ4X has been offered a special rental price starting at 129 US dollars (Rp 2.1 million) per month for 36 months and having to pay 1,999 US dollars (Rp32.5 million) to be paid at the time of signing for the California region.

As for the New York and New Jersey regions, manufacturers offer rental banders starting from 119 US dollars (Rp1.9 million) per month within 36 months by paying $3,999 (Rp65.1 million) at the time of signing.

Toyota also looks set to bid again on the bZ4X model for June. It is known that manufacturers have a price of 159 US dollars (Rp 2.5 million) per month in 36 months with 3,999 US dollars (Rp65.1 million) at the time of signing.

Toyota bZ4X was built on the e-TNGA platform carrying a five-door force. This car has a synchronous magnetic permanent electric motor with a 201 dk wheel drive front.

With a battery with a capacity of 72.8 kWh specifically for the North American market, this car has a range of 355 km to 405 km according to the EPA cycle.

On the other hand, Hyundai has also managed to boost sales of the Ioniq 6 model in the US since launching an affordable rental program for two years. For Ioniq 6 of the lowest variant, tenants only need to pay 239 US dollars (Rp 3.8 million) per month, with a down payment of 239 US dollars. The existence of this program, made sales soar 1.542 percent in the first quarter of 2024 and rose 784 percent in March compared to March 2023.

Meanwhile in Indonesia, PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) has launched bZ4X since October 2022 and is priced at IDR 1.190 billion.
