Reasons For Zeekr To Present Model X And 009 For The Indonesian Market

JAKARTA - The premium car brand from China, namely Zeekr, has officially entered the Indonesian market and will launch two models at once this year, namely Zeekr X and Zeekr 009.

Even though Zeekr has many electric vehicle models in China, such as 007, Zeekr 001 to Zeekr 001 FR. So why bring these two models to enliven the electric car market in the country?

"This is a global strategy. For the right steering wheel, of course there are many countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia," said Zeekr Head of SEA Region Alex Bao Zhuangfei, to the media crew, during the signing ceremony at Park Hyatt Jakarta, Wednesday, June 5.

He further said, for the right steering market, such as the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and MPV segments, the demand is quite high. For this reason, these two models are options for the Indonesian market.

On the other hand, Managing Director of PT Premium Auto Prima JinHong Lin Darwin said the selection of the two models was also not without reason.

"The Zeekr 009 model is the top the range and the MPV market in Indonesia is also quite large. For the Zeekr X model in Europe, many young Europeans like it too, so they also come here (Indonesia).

As is known, the two models were also available for pre-order in Thailand in March 2024. The presence of the two models is in response to the increasing demand for premium smart electric vehicles in the Southeast Asian market.

Zeekr plans to launch an all-time vehicle (MPV) of RHD Zeekr 009 and a Zeekr X sports vehicle, to meet local regulatory requirements in Thailand with plans to present this premium model starting in the third quarter of 2024.
