JAKARTA - Xiaomi officially introduced the new name "Sky Nomad," which indicates the birth of a new brand to continue to strengthen its position in the Chinese automotive market.

"SkyNomad. Sky, wanderer. A new name about space and life, greeting everyone first," Xiaomi EV wrote on its official Weibo account.
Previously, information from the trademark website of the China National Intellectual Property Administration showed that Xiaomi had applied to register several "SkyNomad" trademarks since August 2025.
Previous reports said that Xiaomi's first long-distance SUV (sport utility vehicle) will be part of a completely new independent sub-brand, Sky Nomad. This model will not use the Xiaomi main brand logo and is planned to be officially launched in the second half of 2026.
However, subsequent rumors have suggested that Sky Nomad is actually the name of a series in its own right, not an independent brand. Xiaomi's EV statement today did not clarify this.

The series features a new design language and is in the same class as Li Auto's Li L9 and Aito M9. The series will target the broad multi-passenger travel market and is one of the most important SUV models for the second half of 2026.
The first model of the Sky Nomad, internally codenamed Kunlun N3, is a full-size SUV with a wide range that measures more than 5.3 meters in length, according to a local media report 21jingji on May 18.
The new vehicle is expected to be equipped with a large battery pack with a capacity of more than 70 kWh, offering a range with battery power of 400 to 500 kilometers.
