Honda Prospect Motor Now Officially Has A New President Director

JAKARTA - PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has officially appointed Shugo Watanabe as President Director to replace Kotaro Shimizu, who has served for two years.

"Today is my separation in Indonesia and has worked at HPM since 2022," said Kotaro Shimizu in a handover speech in Sunter, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 27.

Shimizu has served as President Director of the Honda brand-holding single agent in Indonesia since 2022, when the automotive industry was still hit by the pandemic and tried to improve the wheels of the economy.

During his tenure, this man from Japan made a big contribution to Honda's car growth in Indonesia, including presenting an electrification model and expanding the total selling network in the country.

"I also congratulate Watanabe-san who will be my successor," said Shimizu.

Meanwhile, Shugo Watanabe is not new to Honda. He has worked in the manufacturer since 2000 as Executive CKD Operations while in Japan. Long story short, he has served as a high-ranking official in several countries, including Vice President Auto Planning & Strategy Auto Sales in the US in 2021.

Starting in 2024, Watanabe will hold the highest position at HPM and have a number of visions that will strengthen the existence of the Honda brand in the automotive industry in Indonesia.

My mission in Indonesia is to strengthen the Honda brand and our existence in the automotive industry, but most importantly, I want to bring pleasure to our consumers and make HPM a company that people want," explained Shimizu.

In addition, the former high-ranking Honda in Malaysia also expressed his gratitude to Shimizu for contributing while serving as President Director of the company.

"I express my deepest appreciation to Shimizu-san for his contribution," concluded Watanabe.
