Before Driving A BMW Armored Car, Drivers Can Take This Training

JAKARTA - BMW, an automotive manufacturer from Germany, is known to be reliable in presenting high-quality vehicle products. Not only has the element of luxury, but also prioritizes the quality of security and unusual safety for loyal customers.

In order to maintain that commitment, BMW offers a dedicated training program for professional driver vehicles that have special protection from the safest systems ever produced, such as Series-7 and i7 Series Protection and X5 Protection VR6.

It is known, cars with this series have self-protection made of layered steel, combined with door protection, car body bottom shield, and safety glass. In fact, BMW 7 Series Protection and BMW i7 Protection are classified in the VR9 resistance class according to the internationally recognized official testing criteria of the Association of Test Center for Attack-Resistant Materials and Constructions (VPAM). The glass even meets the requirements of the highest resistance class for civilian-only vehicles, VPAM 10.

Meanwhile, the program called BMW Security Vehicle Training aims to improve driver's skills in dealing with BMW's pair vehicles while in extreme situations. The training itself was held at a former military airfield in Gross Dolln, Germany and has been a training center since 2002.

Reporting from the company's official website, Tuesday, March 26, this training was held in two stages. The instructor will teach drivers about the basic physics that helps them in extreme situations. Under the guidance of instructors, drivers are trained to always be ready in any conditions, including attempts to escape.

This basic training course for two days only focuses on fundamental things in driving using a special protection vehicle with heavier weights compared to other normal cars, so it is necessary to take into account the handling.

On the first day, drivers will be trained on emergency braking and evade maneuvers, even in pitch black. To anticipate the emergency situation from unexpected threats, participants were also faced with the challenge of an explosion when passing through forested roads.

On the second day, the participants were also trained in performing the round J which is the most effective escape maneuver. This technique is carried out by turning the vehicle from backward to forward without losing speed to escape dangerous situations.

After doing the basic thing, the participants will be faced by the BMW Security Vehicle Training Level 2 in order to deepen the skills gained in the previous phase.

Then there is also a three-day follow-up course to get the participants into extreme situations such as escape maneuvers when surrounded by gunfire and driving exercises with contact between other vehicles.

In order to train the participants mentally, there are also fireworks, night raids, and scenarios of collisions with significant car damage.

The training also includes off-road training with the X5 Protection VR6 SUV. The participants will be faced with uphill terrain, narrow-angle roads, and challenging sandy areas.
