Supporting The Acceleration Of The Electric Vehicle Ecosystem, Chery Signs Lol With The Ministry Of Industry

JAKARTA - PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI), as a Chery Brand Holder Agent (APM) in Indonesia, signed a letter of intent (LoI) with the Directorate General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics Industry (Ditjen ILMATE), Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenperin).

The signing of LoI was carried out by Qu Jizong, Executive Vice President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia and Hendro Martono, Director of Maritime Industry, Transportation Equipment and Defense Equipment (IMMATAP representing the Directorate General of ILMATE of the Ministry of Industry).

It was stated in this LoI that CSI and the Ministry of Industry will jointly carry out a commitment to support the acceleration of the formation of a Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) ecosystem.

"The signing of this LoI is a form of affirmation of Chery's commitment to the Indonesian automotive industry, especially to support the acceleration of the formation of the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) ecosystem," said Qu Jizong, Executive Vice President, PT Chery Sales Indonesia, in a statement received by VOI, Tuesday, November 28.

He further said that in one year presence in Indonesia, Chery was increasingly convinced that it could continue to grow with the Indonesian government, partners, and consumers. Therefore, the manufacturer will carry out its commitment to invest through the production of electric vehicles in Indonesia and its distribution to right-handed countries.

In particular, CSI stated its commitment to make the best and maximum efforts in the implementation of the KBLBB industrial development project in Indonesia, one of which is by complying with regulations regarding the value of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) which must be met according to government regulations.

As a technology-based company, CSI is also committed to conducting research and development, improving technology, and skills development programs in order to improve manufacturing capabilities to meet, even exceeding industry standards in terms of quality and safety.

All of these commitments are to realize Chery's plans in Indonesia as a production center, and an export center for the development of environmentally friendly vehicles, and will gradually introduce various other environmentally friendly vehicle variants to support the government's efforts to create cleaner, environmentally friendly air, and make a real contribution to emission reduction.

Meanwhile, in the document, the government stated that it would provide support and assistance to CSI to carry out KLBB production in Indonesia, so that it could run according to the conditions set to meet TKDN.

In addition, support will also be provided by the government to increase production capacity in a sustainable manner and empower small and medium-sized industrial components as part of the global supply chain, as well as the realization of an increase in domestically produced KBLBB exports.
