JAKARTA - Pickup truck models such as Ford F-150, Ram 1500, and Chevrolet Silverado, known as tough vehicles capable of passing through various terrains both on-road and off-road.

However, who would have thought that these three models would get the worst title in terms of safety.

This is evidenced by the results of a trial by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) 2023, an independent body engaged in road safety in the US.

Like most other class of vehicles, big pickups don't have a good performance in the new Medium Tumpang test compared to the Latest Side Collision Test, "said David Harkey, as President of IIHS.

The Tumpang Tindih Moderan Front Test is primarily designed to assess the safety of second row passengers after data shows rear seat passengers are more likely to be injured than front row passengers.

In the test, the Institution used a hit test doll in the second row, behind a 12-year-old driver's seat. According to reports, dolls in F-150 and Ram 1500 showed that there was a high probability of chest, head and neck injuries.
