JAKARTA - BMW Indonesia has officially formed a partnership with a transportation service company, Bluebird, to provide innovative eco-friendly car services at luxury hotels.

Through this collaboration, Bluebird will provide eco-friendly mobility services in upscale hotels using the BMW iX fleet. This service can be enjoyed for the first time by consumers at the Westin Hotel, Jakarta, which is named "E-Goldenbird".

In this service, there are three units of BMW iX specially provided for hotel guests. The Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) was chosen because it is considered capable of meeting the mobility needs of hotel guests by providing comfort, safety and advanced technology.

Ramesh Divyanathan, President Director of BMW Group Indonesia, explained that this partnership provides broad benefits by providing zero emission transportation services.

"We believe that this collaborative effort will provide great benefits for all parties involved, with a minimal carbon footprint," said Ramesh, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.

Jodie O'tania, as Director of Communications for BMW Group Indonesia, expressed her views which were in line with Ramesh's. According to him, this partnership aims to introduce the electric vehicle experience to a wider audience.

"We feel the need to bring the electric vehicle experience to more people. One way to do this is by collaborating with Bluebird, which has Golden Bird and Silver Bird services. They have proven their competence in transportation services," said Jodie.

In addition, this service does not only cover hotel guests' travel to the airport, but also offers options to explore Jakarta and its surroundings.

Going forward, BMW Indonesia and Bluebird plan to expand similar services to various luxury hotels outside Jakarta, especially in tourism cities such as Bali.

The BMW iX is one of the mainstays of the manufacturer's SAVs, which is equipped with an electric engine capable of producing 326 hp and 630 Nm of torque.

With this performance, the BMW iX can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, with a maximum speed of 200 km/h. This car is also equipped with a Lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 76.6 kWh which allows it to travel up to 390 km on a single full charge.
