Directly Contacted John Herdman, Beckham's Son Appreciates the Approach of the Indonesian National Team Coach

Beckham Putra is happy with the approach of the Indonesian national team coach, John Herdman (doc. Persib).

JAKARTA - Indonesian national team player, Beckham Putra, is one of the players who have established communication with John Herdman. When contacted directly, Beckham appreciated the approach taken by the new coach.

Beckham assessed Herdman's move as one of the plus points because as a coach he could immediately move to get closer to the players.

"Well, yeah, because it (direct communication) is also good because he (John Herdman) can immediately chat with the players as well. That's a plus for him to be able to quickly mingle with the players," said Beckham Putra as quoted by Antara, Monday, January 19, 2026.

The player who is currently defending Persib Bandung also revealed what he talked about with John Herdman. The English coach is said to have made a pretty good approach.

"Yes, he also asked about the news, asked about the news and how the condition was," he said.

Beckham revealed that Herdman contacted him personally before the crucial match between Persib and Persija Jakarta on January 11, 2026. At that moment, Herdman also showed support for Beckham ahead of the match.

"He also said hello before the match against Persija because he watched the Persija match on television. Thank God I was able to score (in that match). Hopefully that can be my proof too (to Herdman)," said Beckham.

Herdman previously revealed that he would monitor the Indonesian national team players who are currently playing in the Super League. This way of communicating can be one way to get closer and understand the players personally.
