Indonesia Running Festival 2025 Brings A More Friendly Concept For Beginner Runners

JAKARTA - Success with the inaugural title in 2024, the Indonesia Running Festival will return to 2025 with more interesting concepts and surprises.

Not only held in Jakarta and Bandung, in this second edition, the Indonesia Running Festival will also be present in two other cities, namely Yogyakarta and Surabaya.

The opening series will be held in Jakarta, precisely in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area on May 11, 2025. Then it will be continued in Bandung (August 3, 2025), Yogyakarta (19 October 2025), and closed in Surabaya (December 21, 2025).

The event with the fun run concept will present two running categories, namely 5K and 10K. From these two categories, it will also be divided into two classes, namely for open runners and master runners.

"In open class, runners can participate, both athletes and non-athletes. Later there will be champions 1 to 5. While master classes for runners are over 45 years old," said Aristya as the creative team for the 2025 Indonesian Running Series at a press conference in Jakarta, Sunday, February 23, 2025.

The Indonesia Running Series 2025 also presents a different concept from other running agendas, where the main focus of this event is to provide a forum for novice runners so they can enjoy the fun run without having to catch up with the time limit.

If on the running agenda in general in the 5K category a maximum time limit of 60 minutes is given, then at the Jakarta Running Festival 2025 the runners can use a maximum time limit of up to 90 minutes.

Likewise in the 10K category which is usually spent with 90 minutes, it can now be reached with a maximum of 120 minutes.

"We are more focused on friends who are just starting to become athletes, we are opening a forum, namely the Indonesia Running Series."

"We are targeting novice runners so that they can slowly follow the process from the start, from the run and run," said Aristya.

Carrying the theme of Go Green and Sustainability, the Indonesian Running Festival 2025 committee also invites people to care about the environment.

In line with that, during the implementation of the Indonesia Running Series later, the committee will educate participants about environmental care at the Recycle Station.

There are also donation auctions and CSR for participants who want to donate to environmental conservation, such as forest rehabilitation and water conservation.

In order to maximize the concept of Go Green at this event, the committee even committed to suppressing the use of paper in order to preserve the environment.

Alternatively, the committee will maximize the use of digital and non-physical systems, especially in the registration and use process of BIB.

For runners who are interested in participating in the 2025 Indonesia Running Festival, registration has started on Sunday, February 23, 2025, for the Jakarta area.

The registration fee in the 5K category is priced at IDR 350 thousand. Meanwhile, the 10K category is set at IDR 450 thousand, where the total prizes in each series reach IDR 200 million.
