Regarding Rumors Of FIFA Letters, Zainudin Amali: Inconsequential

JAKARTA - Lately there has been a lot of news about FIFA's letter canceling Indonesia's status as the host for the 2023 U-20 World Cup. The issue said that FIFA had appointed Peru as its replacement.

However, this rumor was later refuted. PSSI said that they had not received a letter from FIFA regarding the cancellation of the host status for the U-20 World Cup.

"Not yet, it's inconsequential," said Deputy Chairman of PSSI, Zainudin Amali, when accompanying the General Chairman of PSSI, Erick Thohir, when giving information regarding updates to the U-20 World Cup at the Bekasi Patriot Stadium, Tuesday, March 28 evening.

Meanwhile, Erick Thohir emphasized that his party would not cover up if there was a letter from FIFA regarding this matter. He said there must be openness and professionalism.

"We from PSSI are very open. We hear a lot from clubs and supporters," said the man who is also the Head of the Local Committee (LOC) for the U-20 World Cup.

He said it was legitimate if there was news about Peru which would replace Indonesia if it was canceled as the host. Erick can understand if this problem becomes a topic of public discussion and foreign media.

"However, this is FIFA's property, so they are the ones who decide and most importantly the consequences must be anticipated," said Erick Thohir.
