News Of Palace Has Sent A Presidential Letter To The Commander Of The Indonesian National Armed Forces, Commission I Of The House Of Representatives Has Not Yet Received It

JAKARTA - Commission I of the DPR stated that it had not yet received a Presidential Letter (Surpres) regarding the name of the replacement TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto. According to the news, the Surpres will be sent to the palace before 8 November.

Member of Commission I of the DPR RI, the Gerindra Party faction, Yan Permenas Mandenas, said that until now there has been no information regarding the Surpres of the Candidate for the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces from President Jokowi.

"There is no definite information yet," said Yan, Monday, November 1.

Meanwhile, Member of Commission I DPR RI Golkar Faction Dave Laksono admitted that he had heard for a long time the names of the candidates for the TNI Commander in Chief who were likely to be elected by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). He mentioned that there were three names that were strong candidates.

Among them, Chief of Army Staff (KSAD) General Andika Perkasa, Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono, and Commander of the Army Strategic Command (Pangkostrad) Lieutenant General (Letjen) TNI Dudung Abdurachman.

"Yes, I've heard those names for a long time (will be a candidate for TNI commander in chief, ed)," said Dave.

The Golkar politician said the possibility of the name of the candidate to become TNI Commander is still wide open for the next week. Because, he said, the Surpres regarding the TNI Commander might be sent until November 8, 2021, or at the earliest after President Jokowi returns from the G20 meeting in Rome, Italy.

Previously, the leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives had heard from the Palace regarding the presidential letter (Surpres) Joko Widodo regarding the candidate for the TNI Commander in Chief to replace Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto. However, the leadership has not yet received the Surpres which was sent to the DPR.

"They said it was the 1st (November)," said Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Saturday, October 30.
