JAKARTA - Gede Pasek Suardika will register his new party with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights today, Monday 1 November. The party was named the Nusantara Awakening Party (PKN).

Gede Pasek himself was officially elected as the General Chair of the PKN after resigning as Secretary-General and leaving the Hanura Party.

"Yes, I will register with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," said Gede Pasek, Sunday, October 31.

According to the plan, Pasek will visit the Ministry of Law and Human Rights at around 11.00 western Indonesia time. Gede Pasek will be accompanied to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights by the deputy general chairman and the party secretary-general.

"(to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights with, ed) the Secretary-General, Deputy and Head of Law and Human Rights Division," he said.

The former Democrat politician said that the PKN had only been formed for 2 days yesterday. However, according to him, many parties, especially former Democrat and Hanura cadres, are interested in joining PKN.

"It's only been two days so it's hard to say what percentage. Because it keeps growing. So it's mentioned that many former Democrats, Hanura, as well as Cipayung plus activists and of course PPI friends who are not yet a party, are interested," explained Pasek.

"Moreover, the regions have only just heard of it, so they are looking for ways to join again to reminisce and struggle together. What is certain is that it will continue to grow," he continued.

Previously, the Politician of the People's Conscience Party (Hanura) Inas Nasrullah had said that Gede Pasek Suardika would form a new political party after resigning as a cadre as well as Hanura. Inas told reporters, Friday, October 29.

Inas suspects that this new political party will be declared in the near future. In fact, Gede Pasek has also brought several Hanura Party cadres to the success of his plan to establish the new political party.

"December. As far as I know, in December they will declare," he said.

However, the DPR member who once sat on Commission VI of the DPR did not want to comment further on the decision to resign Gede Pasek. However, he emphasized that the Hanura Party did not forbid its cadres who wanted to leave. "If you want to resign, just step back. You're not an important person after all. If it's an important person, we will announce it using a certain event, we will celebrate, if just Pasek resigns, he has resigned," he said.
