This Is Police Strategy In Facing Demonstration In Front Of Serang Regent's Office

SERANG – Dozens of female police officers (Polwan) from Serang City Police, Banten Police, secured the demonstration at the Serang Regent's Government Office. The demonstration held by the Alliance of Trade Union Workers (ASPSB) went without any clashes.

Serang City Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant Maruli Ahiles Hutapea said the security of the demonstration carried out by the Banten Policewoman and Serang City Police personnel was carried out in a humane way. The demonstrators were asked to convey their aspirations in a polite, orderly and non-anarchic manner.

"We dispatched female police officers to secure the workers' demonstration. We will serve the conveyance of the protesters' aspirations, by prioritizing a humanist approach and according to the SOPs that have been determined, and prioritizing female police officers as the initial Mass Control (Dalmas)," explained Maruli, Thursday, October 28.

The policewomen also carried banners that read "Let's obey the COVID-19 health protocol together, let's wear masks, wash our hands, and keep our distance".

Furthermore, Maruli said that the ASPSB demonstration demanded a 10% increase in labor wages in 2022, stop low wages and revoke the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration Regulation (Kemenakertrans) number 104 of 2021, and revoke Law No. 11. of 2020 regarding work creation.
