Deputy Governor Riza Says Transjakarta Bus Driver Who Died In Collision Becomes A Suspect

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that the Transjakarta bus driver who died in the accident of two buses on Monday, October 25 has been named a suspect.

"The issue of Transjakarta is quite concerned about the two people who died, the injuries have been treated, and the driver happens to be a suspect, yes," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 26.

However, because the driver of the bus driver who crashed into the bus in front of him died, the suspect's status was null and void.

From this case, Riza asked all parties to take lessons to continue to be careful when driving. He also views that Transjakarta bus driver is a tough job, so the potential for drowsiness often arises.

"It must be understood, being a Transjakarta bus driver is difficult. Why? Because in the same corridor, it's straight. So, if you are a driver (who drives) straight, there are barriers, it's very boring, very boring and naturally faster sleepy than on the usual streets," said Riza.

Therefore, Riza admitted that the DKI Provincial Government immediately conducted an evaluation of Transjakarta operations together with bus operators who were their partners. Then, look for solutions to prevent accidents from happening again.

For information, the accident of two TransJakarta buses occurred on Monday, October 25, early in the morning. As a result of the accident 33 people became victims. In which, two of them died and 31 people suffered minor and serious injuries.

The accident started when a Transjakarta bus was stopped to drop off passengers at the Cawang Ciliwung Bus Stop. Suddenly, a bus from behind hit a bus that was stopped at a bus stop.
