After Leaving The Police Before Being Sworn In By Jokowi, Who Will Replace Komjen Paulus Waterpaw?

JAKARTA - Commissioner-General (Komjen), Paulus Waterpaw officially relinquished his position as Head of the Intelligence and Security Agency (Kabaintelkam) of the National Police.

The reason is that he has been appointed to serve as Deputy for Management of Border Area Potential at the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

"Before his inauguration, Komjen Paulus said goodbye and handed over his position as Kabaintelkam to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo", said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, in a statement, Friday, October 22.

The handover of the position, said Argo, was by the National Police Chief Regulation Number 849 of 2015 concerning the Status of Positions within the Police. Thus, the position of Head of the Intelligence and Security Agency (Kabaintelkam) is temporarily filled by Deputy Head of the Intelligence and Security Agency (Wakabaintelkam), Inspector General Suntana.

"Kabaintelkam who has handed over his duties to the National Police Chief will automatically carry out his duties and responsibilities by Deputy Head of the Intelligence and Security Agency (Wakabaintelkam)", said Argo.

Then, to choose the right person to replace Paulus Waterpaw, it will be submitted to the Council of High Ranks and Positions (Wanjakti). Currently, the candidate search process is still underway.

"Who's the bride is still waiting for the process at Wanjakti", Argo said briefly

For information, Commissioner General Paulus Waterpaw was officially appointed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as Deputy BNPP of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The inauguration is enshrined in the Decree of the President of Indonesia Number 147/TPA of 2021 concerning the dismissal and appointment of middle-high leaders within the BNPP.
