JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Commissioners (OJK) Wimboh Santoso promised to continue to eradicate illegal online loan services (pinjol) throughout the country.

Wimboh Santoso said OJK would strengthen cooperation with the National Police Headquarters, the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemkominfo) and other related parties, to close illegal or unregistered online loan companies.

"In the future, we will continue to carry out all areas of Indonesia, educate the entire community and eradicate illegal products," said Wimboh, Friday, October 15.

According to him, OJK already has a memorandum of understanding with the Indonesian Police, the Ministry of Communication and Information, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, and Bank Indonesia to collaborate in eradicating illegal loans.

He advised people who want to get funding facilities from loan or technology-based funding services (fintech), to only work with loans that are registered and licensed by the OJK.
