JAKARTA – A man reportedly jumped from the pedestrian bridge (JPO) Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta into the river. Luckily, the man still survived and was immediately evacuated by residents.

Jagakarsa Police Chief, Kompol Endang Sukmajaya, said residents rescued the man who had jumped from a height of about 10 meters. Although he was still conscious, he could not be spoken to.

"The motive (he jumped) we have not received information from the victim because the person concerned cannot be spoken to. However, there seems to be a mental disorder," he said, Monday, October 11 in the morning.

Endang assessed that the victim looked like he had a mental disorder, so the police coordinated with the DKI Jakarta Social Service and the DKI Health Office for handling. The victim is currently being treated at the hospital and is being assisted.
