Name Of Deputy Chairperson Of The KPK Lili Pintauli Siregar Appears At The Session, Gives Arief Aceh's Number To Syahrial

JAKARTA - The former Mayor of Tanjungbalai M. Syahrial, revealed his communication with the Deputy Chair of the KPK, Lili Pintauli Siregar, regarding the investigation into the sale and purchase of positions handled by the law enforcement agency.

"I once asked for help, but at that time I had never spoken, it was she (Lili Pintauli) who said there was a problem at the KPK, then I said 'That's an old case, ma'am, in 2019', then answered 'pray a lot', "said Syahrial while testifying via video conference from the Medan Class I Detention Center, reported by Antara, Monday, October 11.

Syahrial was a witness for two defendants, namely former KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju and advocate Maskur Husain who were charged with receiving a total of Rp11.5 billion from the management of five cases at the KPK. Meanwhile, Robin and Maskur were present at the trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor).

The KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU) then read out Syahrial's Minutes of Examination (BAP).

"In BAP 41, you said, 'After that, I didn't communicate with Mrs. Lili, I only communicated again in July 2020 when I was out for 3 days for the Tablighi Jamaat and I was on election leave. Mrs. Lili said there was my name in the file on her desk, I say it's an old thing from 2019. Mrs. Lili said that I should pray a lot and I asked for guidance, then I said please help. Mrs. Lili said that she couldn't help because it was the leadership's decision and I said yes, is this statement true?" asked the KPK Public Prosecutor Lie Putra Setiawan.

"Right," replied Syahrial.

After Syahrial asked for instructions from Lili, Lili then gave the name Arief Aceh to Syahrial.

"At night I still haven't decided whether to go through Mr. Robin or Mrs. Lili (to take care of the case), I asked Mrs. Lili for instructions, finally given the name Arief Aceh, he is a lawyer," said Syahrial.

But Syahrial finally decided to take care of his case through former KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju, who was previously introduced by the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament, Azis Syamsuddin.

"I said to bro Robin, 'Who is bro Arief Aceh? Said bro Robin, he is a player, then said 'Whatever you want to choose me or Arief Aceh', I finally decided to bro Robin," added Syahrial.

In BAP 37 which was read out KPK prosecutor Syahrial said Arief Aceh was a "player" lawyer at the KPK.

"Have you ever told the Regional Secretary of Tanjungbalai Yusmada that Azis Syamsuddin has 8 people in the KPK who can be mobilized for Azis Syamsuddin's interests?" asked the prosecutor.

"I conveyed to the regional secretary that Mr. Robin entrusted me that the investigator was at the official residence, but I don't know 8 or 10 people but I conveyed the investigator, therefore bro Robin's delivery to me, I conveyed to the regional secretary, but I did not convey the nominal 8 or 10 people," Syahrial replied.
