PAN Mourns, Chairman Of Central Java PAN DPW Who Was Also Treasurer Of PP Muhammadiyah Suyatno Dies

JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) is grieving again. Chairman of the Central Java PAN DPW, Prof. Suyatno passed away today.

The General Treasurer of PP Muhammadiyah was treated at the Muhammadiyah Islamic Hospital and at the RSCM, before finally breathing his last at the Cempaka Putih Hospital.

PAN informed that Suyatno died due to a long-standing illness, not due to exposure to COVID-19.

"He is a good person. Hard worker. Never gives up. He has made many achievements," said the chairman of the PAN DPP, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, Sunday, October 10.

In addition to serving as Bendum PP Muhammadiyah, Suyatno is also the former Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (Uhamka) for 2 periods.

"Prof. Suyatno is a Muhammadiyah militant cadre and activist. In addition to being the rector several times at Uhamka, he has also helped build other Muhammadiyah universities in various regions," explained the chairman of the PAN faction of the DPR.

"Thanks to his persistence, Uhamka developed quite rapidly. In fact, Muhammadiyah formally assigned him to help other campuses. Finally, he was solemn as the rector of the University of Muhammadiyah Bandung," continued Saleh.

Saleh said that Suyatno was a good person to everyone. So, he said, he was elected as Bendum PP Muhammadiyah.

"Prof. Yatno is a good person. He likes to smile and is friendly to everyone. No wonder he was elected general treasurer of PP. Muhammadiyah at the last congress. His dedication and sacrifice has been proven. I think everyone who knows him will surely testify that he is a good person," said Saleh.

In addition, he continued, Suyatno has a close relationship with PAN. He has also been a candidate for DPR through PAN. Even though he was active in Muhammadiyah, said Saleh, his ideological emotional ties remained well-organized with PAN.

"That's probably why, when yesterday he was asked to be the chairman of the Central Java PAN DPW, he was willing. In fact, he was willing to be totally active in conducting consolidation in Central Java. He is one of the most diligent DPW heads to go to the regions and reports on his visits are always submitted to DPP PAN," he explained.

In the 2019 presidential election, Suyatno was also one of the supporters of the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno pair and joined the National Winning Body.

The North Sumatra legislator said all PAN cadres were shocked by this sad news. Saleh just found out that Suyatno was seriously ill.

"God willing, he is husnul khatimah and all his actions and struggles during his life are worth worship, amen," said Saleh.

The body was taken to the funeral home at Jalan Sempu Raya 27 RT 003/04 Beji, Depok, West Java.
