Gerindra Is Determined: Prabowo Subianto Is Ready To Run In The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - Secretary-General of the Gerindra Party DPP Ahmad Muzani ensured that the General Chair of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto is ready to run in the 2024 presidential election contestation. The reason is that public demand is still massive.

"I say, 2024 Mr. Prabowo, God willing, will advance in the presidential election. His progress is because of the massive demand from us all, the people's expectations are high, development must continue, our ideals as a party have not been realized," said Muzani in a statement in Jakarta, Sunday, October 10.

This was said by Muzani while attending the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of the South Sulawesi Gerindra DPD on Saturday, October 9. In the coordination meeting, the DPD Gerindra Sulsel asked for the willingness of the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party to run in the 2024 presidential election.

Muzani said that in the 2019 presidential election, Prabowo as a presidential candidate managed to win in South Sulawesi with a percentage of 57 percent.

For this reason, he asked all administrators of the DPD, DPC, PAC to branches in South Sulawesi to close ranks so that the target of winning the presidential election with the target of 65 percent of the vote could be achieved.

"Our determination to win Mr. Prabowo in 2024 must be greater, I respectfully request that no members of the South Sulawesi DPRD cause us to lose," he said.

Muzani said party cadres must be the determining factor for Gerindra's victory in the 2024 election and Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election. According to him, with a minimum target of 65 percent victory in South Sulawesi, they must make the area a "home" for Gerindra.

He asked all Gerindra cadres not to do anything that could harm the party, but must be a winning factor for Prabowo Subianto in the upcoming presidential election.

"In the survey, Mr. Prabowo is the most superior, the electability is the highest, so your request for Mr. Prabowo to run in 2024 is not wrong. This is our momentum and opportunity to place the best cadres in the top executive seats," he said.

It is known, the results of the latest survey by Saiful Mujani Research and Consultant (SMRC) stated that the electability of the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, was still in the top position with 18.1 percent related to the 2024 presidential candidate. The survey was conducted with a semi-open choice simulation.

"In a semi-open question format with a list of 42 names, Prabowo received 18.1 percent support," said SMRC Research Director Deni Irvani in a virtual press conference, Thursday, October 7.

From the survey, the second position was occupied by the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo with an electability rate of 15.8 percent, followed by the name of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan with 11.1 percent.

Ahmad Muzani doesn't want Gerindra cadres to be part of the reason people don't vote for Prabowo so that all mistakes that have been made to the community must be corrected.

The chairman of the South Sulawesi Gerindra DPD Andi Iwan Darmawan Aras representing 12 district/city DPCs in South Sulawesi declared his support for Prabowo Subianto to run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election.

"I, as the chairman of the South Sulawesi DPD, on behalf of the entire board, have requested and asked for Mr. Prabowo's willingness to be nominated as a presidential candidate in 2024," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

For that, he asked all Gerindra cadres of South Sulawesi to start winning work starting from the DPC to the branches. According to him, South Sulawesi's Gerindra must be even more optimal, the party infrastructure must continue to be improved, there are still many things that need improvement.

"We ask all DPC leaders to complete infrastructure down to the branches. In order to maximize loyalty in the future, apply the positive meaning of TSM, be structured, systematic, and massive in winning Mr. Prabowo as President in 2024," he said.

In the coordination meeting, a number of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction were also present, such as Prasetyo Hadi, Kamarusamad, Azikin Sultan, and M Husni. Also in attendance were DPP Chairperson Danang Wicaksana and Deputy Chairperson Fauzi Badilah.
