Anies' Data On 0 COVID-19 Death Cases In DKI Is Different From The Task Force, Here's The Explanation

JAKARTA - Yesterday, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said there were no or 0 requests for COVID-19 funeral services in Jakarta. This means that there are no cases of death due to COVID-19 within 24 hours on Thursday, October 7.

However, Anies' data was denied by the central COVID-19 task force. Based on data, the central COVID-19 task force recorded 1 death in Jakarta on the same day.

The DKI Provincial Government explained why the number of funerals called nil is different from the data on 1 death from the Task Force. He said this was due to differences in the cut off data.

He said, the DKI Parks and City Forest Service (Distamhut) from 18.00 on October 6 (Wednesday) to 18.00 on October 7 (Thursday), today, there has been no request for funeral services with COVID-19 procedures. Then, the timing of the cut-off of the Task Force data is different.

"Distamhut data from 18:00 on the 6th to 18:00 on the 7th, there is no COVID-19 funeral. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 Task Force data is a cut off from 10 am on the 6th to 10 am on the 7th. The COVID-19 task force was buried before 6 p.m. on October 6," wrote the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government statement, Friday, October. Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan stated that there were zero funerals with COVID-19 procedures in the last 24 hours.

“A day to be grateful for. In the last 24 hours there have been 0 requests for COVID-19 protocol funeral services in DKI Jakarta (data from the DKI Distamhut from 18.00 yesterday to 18.00 today). Thank God," said Anies Baswedan via the aniesbaswedan Instagram account.

Zero death, Anies emphasized, is not a celebration because the COVID-19 pandemic has not yet ended. He also reminded to remain vigilant because the COVID-19 pandemic is not over yet.

"But don't stop just yet. Our future endeavor is to try to keep more days like this, days without COVID-19 deaths. We have experienced difficult conditions, even very hard in last July. Don't let us go back to that point," said Anies.

Anies reminded residents to continue to comply with health protocols even though they have been vaccinated. He also reminded residents to care for each other and invite COVID-19 vaccinations.

"Even though you have been vaccinated, you must still maintain strict health protocols everywhere. At the office, at school, in public places, in the neighborhood around the house," said Anies.
