COVID-19 Update As Of 7 October: 1,393 New Cases From 259,555 Specimen Examination

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 259,555 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 1,393 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,054,246 people and active cases of 27,747", said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, October 7.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,946 cases, bringing the total to 4,054,246 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 81 people and a total of 142,494 people.

The province with the newest cases was in Central Java with 159 cases and a total of 482,769 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 149 new cases with a total of 858,771 cases. East Java has 122 new cases and a total of 396,324 cases. Then, West Java had 106 new cases and a total of 703,529 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to Aceh with an additional 195 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an additional 188 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 144 recovered cases, and West Java with an additional 118 recovered cases.

No province has reported any new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 40,848,558.

"Positive results per number of people tested or this week's positivity rate of 0.98 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 213,616 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 96,492,154 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 54,959,545 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 980.846. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
