JAKARTA - The Labor Party has officially declared a new management structure for the period 2021-2026. Said Iqbal was appointed President of the Labor Party, equivalent to the general chairman of the party.

In his announcement, Iqbal said that the Labor Party did not take the term party leadership council (DPP) in their management, but the executive committee or executive committee (exco).

"Starting from national to sub-district level, we call it the Labor Party Exco. That is one of the identities that we offer the Labor Party, which is different from other parties," Iqbal said at a press conference, Tuesday, October 5.

Iqbal said that the composition of the management at the national level also came from the old Labor Party officials, various heads of labor federations, to professionals. The Labor Party's target is to pass parliament in the 2024 election.

"The labor party is ready to take part in the 2024 General Election. The first step is to pass the General Election Commission (KPU) verification, the second step is to pass the parliamentary threshold, the third step is to join other parties. If we win, we will rule with other parties," explained Iqbal.

However, currently, the Labor Party is still completing party membership at the regional level as a condition for passing the verification of election participants by the KPU.

At the provincial level, the management of the Labor Party is complete. Then, at the district/city level, it has reached 409 out of 514 districts/cities or 80 percent.

"The requirements for the KPU's verification are 50 sub-districts. So, the sub-districts that must be fulfilled are 3621 sub-districts. We are already in 1.450 sub-districts out of 3.621 sub-districts. There are already 40 percent, less than 10 percent," said Iqbal.

Meanwhile, regarding the cadre, Iqbal said he was optimistic that many labor union members would join the Labor Party, especially in industrially dense areas.

"The number of members in each district of 1,000 people is evenly distributed or spread over 409 regencies/cities. In fact, in industrial cities, there are 100.000 members," he said.

The following is the composition of the Labor Party's board of directors:
