Allegedly Historic Statue Found In North Sumatra's Labura Palm Oil Garden, Here's What It Looks Like

MEDAN - A statue suspected of having historical value was found in a resident's garden in Hamlet 3, Meranti Omas Village, Na IX-X District, North Labuhan Batu Regency (Labura), North Sumatra. The discovery of this statue went viral on social media.

The statue was found by Sarpin Ritonga while digging in his palm oil field, Wednesday, September 29. The discovery of the statue was first uploaded on Arun Rambe Rambe's Facebook account.

"The statue weighs 50 kg. This is the second discovery. The first one is a yellow bowl weighing 7.5 ounces. I keep it at home," said Sarpin Ritonga when contacted, Friday, October 1.

He said the yellow bowl had turned to stone. The bowl was discovered by Sarpin around June 2021.

"At that time, I was planting oil palm. I was digging under the burning palm trunk," said Sarpin.

Sarpin revealed, according to the information he obtained, in the past there was indeed a kingdom in the area

Hamlet 3, Batu Sinanggar, Meranti Omas Village, Labura, North Sumatra.

"From the old people here, they say that in the past there was a kingdom that was colonized here. There is also a cave, but you can't enter it," he said.

Since the discovery of the statue, many people have come to his farm to see the find.

"Now there are more people going there. Many want to see," he added.
