Bali Prepares Quarantine Hotels For Foreign Tourists

DENPASAR - The Bali Provincial Tourism Office appealed to tourism actors on the Island of the Gods to be careful in opening international tourism, considering the transmission of the COVID-19 virus is still happening. The Bali Provincial Government will also prepare quarantine hotels for exposed foreign tourists.

"The opening of tourism for foreign tourists must be considered carefully in terms of health protocols and document checks to the health history of travelers, considering that Bali will also have many international events in 2022 which certainly can be affected", said Head of the Bali Tourism Office, Putu Astawa, in Denpasar quoted by Antara, Friday, October 1.

Putu Astawa said the opening of foreign tourism and international events to be held in Bali next year would be a gamble for Bali's good name in the eyes of the world.

"In opening destinations for foreign tourists, Bali itself must be careful that transmission of the virus through tourists can happen, don't let COVID-19 cases in Bali increase, if this happens, then the international event in 2022 can be canceled and Bali's name will be bad in the eyes of the world", he said.

According to Putu Astawa, in conditions like this, for foreign tourists arriving on the Island of the Gods in Bali, before enjoying a holiday in Bali, they must first undergo quarantine at the hotel that has been prepared.

"According to the existing SOPs, every foreign tourist who enters Indonesia must be quarantined, so we have actually prepared quarantine hotels, even if we need an integrated Isolation Hotel we will also prepare in an SOP", he said.

Putu Astawa emphasized that Bali will adhere to the concept of being careful in opening tourism for foreign tourists, especially as the opening is a trial ahead of international events.

"With the opening of international tourism later, we hope that Bali will become the gateway for foreign tourists to enter Indonesia", he said.
