NasDem Vice-Chancellor Says He Doesn't Want To Talk About Presidential Candidates First, But Is Ready To Bring Candidates From Other Parties

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party refuses to discuss the 2024 presidential election. Deputy Chairperson of the NasDem Party Ahmad Ali said that the party's external politics will only be discussed when the pandemic is under control.

"NasDem doesn't want to rush things. Moreover, the authority to block political candidates is the domain of the general chairman," said Ali to reporters, Friday, October 1.

Including the matter of the Simultaneous Regional Head Election (Pilkada), said Ali, NasDem Party has its own way of preparing it. NasDem, according to him, did not want to join other parties that had already placed their regional head candidates.

"We have our own strategy. Talking about the issue of regional heads doesn't seem wise to talk about today, because our general chairman built this party to become a struggling house for everyone," explained the chairman of the NasDem faction.

Ali said NasDem would evaluate public input regarding potential figures. Thus, the party created by Surya Paloh is still looking at the figures that appear on the wishes of the people.

Even NasDem, added Ali, did not limit the nominations to only party cadres. However, it opens up potential candidates who have integrity and commitment.

"Currently, all Central Executive Board (DPP) functionaries to the Regional Executive Board (DPD) are consolidating and forming party structures. Ensuring the formation of management at the village level throughout Indonesia in early 2022," said Ali
