Legislative Council Of House of Representatives Sets 37 Bills To Enter Prolegnas 2021, There Are 4 New Bills

JAKARTA - The Legislation Body of the DPR (House of Representatives) has determined 37 bills to be included in the 2021 Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) in a plenary meeting, Thursday, September 30.

Legislation Body added 4 bills, which previously amounted to 33 bills. Of the 33 bills that are included in the 2021 Priority Prolegnas list, as many as 5 bills have been passed into law.

The Deputy Chair of the Legislation Body, M. Nurdin explained, as many as 12 bills are still under discussion at the level I. Then 1 bill is waiting for an assignment for discussion, 4 bills are waiting for the president's letter, 2 bills are waiting for a plenary stipulation, 2 bills are in the process of harmonization at Legislation Body, 11 bills are in the process of drafting in the DPR and the government.

Nurdin conveyed that there were 3 bills proposed by the government and 1 bill proposed by the DPR that were included in the 2021 Prolegnas list. Namely the Bill on the Criminal Code (KUHP) whose status was carried over by the government's proposal, the bill for amendments to the Correctional Law, the bill for amendments to the ITE Law, and the Bill on Amendments to the Law on the Supreme Audit Agency.

"After seeing the development of legal needs in the community, the work meeting held by Legislation Body and Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia approved and agreed on the following matters, including three bills proposed by the government and one bill proposed by the DPR", said Nurdin in a plenary session, Thursday, September 30.

Legislation Body said Nurdin, also agreed to include 1 bill proposed by the DPR in the 2020-2024 Prolegnas, namely the bill on chemicals proposed by the DPR.

Furthermore, 7 bills on the provinces on the islands of Sulawesi and Kalimantan, as well as the proposal of Commission II of the House of Representatives on the establishment of provincial and district/city regions, namely North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan. "The seven bills have completed the harmonization stage", he said
