JAKARTA - Deputy Head of the Semarang Criminal Investigation Unit Police, AKP Agus Supriyadi, admitted to introducing the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Golkar Party faction, Azis Syamsuddin, with former KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission) investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju.

"Yes, I've introduced him, so when the defendant graduated from the 2019 KPK, I asked 'Bin (Robin) later I want to join the KPK, what do you study? What are the tips? then I said 'Bin, I have a friend in Jakarta, they are considered family, we will meet later, Bin', I mean to Mr. Azis. Robin asked 'Who is it, sir?' when we met in Jakarta", said Agus Supriyadi at the Jakarta Corruption Court, as reported by Antara, Monday, September 27.

Agus Supriyadi became a witness for Stepanus Robin Pattuju and advocate Maskur Husain who was charged with receiving a total of IDR 11.5 billion from handling five cases at the KPK.

Agus at that time served in the Cyber ​​Crime Directorate at the Central Java Regional Police. Robin is known to have started as a KPK investigator on August 15, 2019.

"Did Robin say I can't see this and that?" asked the public prosecutor of the KPK, Wahyu Dwi Oktafianto.

"At that time, he had just graduated, so psychologically he had not yet entered", said Agus.

"In fact, if it is new, the enthusiasm can be seen", said the prosecutor.

"That's true, but at that time I only offered friendship", said Agus.

He claimed to have known Robin as his junior during his education in the police.

"Good relations continue after graduating from school, the person concerned was serving in North Maluku at that time, I congratulate him because he served in the place where I was born", added Agus.

Meanwhile, Agus talked about Azis Syamsuddin when he was still on duty in Papua.

"Regarding Mr. Azis, I knew him at that time when we were on duty in Papua. The person concerned had done his official work there, we did security, then secured him during the activity, there we got to know each other and exchanged cellphone numbers", said Agus.

At that time, Azis Syamsuddin had served as Chairman of Indonesian House of Representatives Commission III.

Agus' relationship with Azis continues because Agus sometimes visits Azis Syamsuddin's house when he goes to Jakarta.

"When we went to Jakarta, our son happened to be 'mocked', so when I visited him once a month there was also his place on Hang Tuah Street and Denpasar Street once, for gatherings", added Agus.

Agus then came to Azis' house in February 2020 when he was examining witnesses at Grapari Tangerang.

"Then after the activity, we visited his (Azis) house. He had time to ask 'Are there friends at the KPK?', that he shifted the conversation to ask about family, so the question was only spontaneous and I didn't ask further", said Agus.

However, Agus admitted that he has a classmate who is currently serving as a KPK investigator.

"Two months later there was my 'letting' at the KPK by my BAP (police investigation report), I had time to ask my friends, their names were Sony and Bisma, both of whom were my 'letting' friends who were employed at the KPK", Agus explained.

However, Agus said the two friends did not respond when asked to meet.

"I told Sony and Bisma about wanting to meet but at that time they said 'I'm still busy' when I said I wanted to meet my brother", added Agus.

What Agus meant by "my brother" was Azis Syamsuddin.

In this case, Stepanus Robin Pattuju and Maskur Husain were accused of receiving from M Syahrial an amount of IDR 1,695 billion, Azis Syamsudin and Aliza Gunado of IDR 3,099,887,000 and 36 thousand US dollars, Ajay Muhammad Priatna an amount of IDR 507.39 million, Usman Effendi a total of IDR Rp525 million, and Rita Widyasari IDR 5,197,800,000 bringing the total bribe to IDR 11.5 billion.

Syahrial is an inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor; Azis Syamsudin is the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives from the Golkar Party faction; Aliza Gunado is a Golkar cadre who has served as the former Deputy Chairperson of the PP Youth Forces of the Golkar Party (AMPG); Ajay Muhammad Priatna is the inactive Mayor of Cimahi; Usman Effendi is the Director of PT. Tenjo Jaya who is also a prisoner in the corruption case of land use rights in Tenjojaya District, Sukabumi, West Java; and Rita Wisyasari is the former Regent of Kutai Kartanegara.
