5 Members Of The BPPKB Ormas Become Suspects In The Gekbrong Incident, Police Are Still Chasing 2 Other Perpetrators

SUKABUMI - Five people have been named as suspects in the clash between PP and BPPKB mass organizations that left one person dead on Sunday, September 26, evening. A number of evidences and witnesses have also been obtained by the police to continue the legal process against the group.

Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Doni Hermawan said the five suspects were from the BPPKB mass organization, and they had been questioned about the action.

"Five people have been questioned as suspects," said Doni Hermawan to reporters, Monday, September 27.

AKBP Doni also explained that his party is still pursuing the two perpetrators who fled. The police claimed to have pocketed the identity of the perpetrator, so that the movements of the two members could be seen.

The police will ensnare the perpetrators under Article 170 of the Criminal Code, collective violence against people or goods referring to the Criminal Code (KUHP). The perpetrators who are caught face a maximum imprisonment of five years and six months.

"We apply article 170 of the Criminal Code, commit violence together against people. All (suspects) are from BPPKB," concluded Doni.

Previously reported, clashes between PP organizations and Banten BPPKB occurred on Sunday, September 26 in the Gekbrong area, on the Cianjur - Sukabumi border, West Java. The clashes left one PP member dead with grievous injuries.
