Novel Baswedan Opens Up About Anies Baswedan's Examination At The KPK

JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) inactive investigator Novel Baswedan has finally opened his voice regarding his accusation of protecting DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan at the anti-corruption agency.

Where when Novel Baswedan was still active at the KPK, Anies was said to have received protection. Especially in the case of alleged corruption in land acquisition in Munjul, Pondok Ranggon, East Jakarta.

Novel Baswedan emphatically denies the accusation. According to Novel, it can be said that this accusation will not happen at the KPK.

"If it is related to myself, we understand. We should understand that at the KPK there are people with integrity," Novel said in an interview snippet at the Mata Najwa show quoted Friday, September 24.

Novel Baswedan said, protecting someone caught in a case at the KPK is very difficult and even impossible. After all, each case handling task force has its own task. So they won't know what they're doing.

"The KPK has a division of tasks. During the investigation, there is a division, each of which does not know each other's cases," said Novel.

Moreover, Novel feels that he has no interest whatsoever in protecting Anies. Not only that, Novel ensures that anyone who is involved or needs to be investigated in handling a corruption case by the KPK will certainly be investigated.

"Even if it's not investigated, people will know at the trial. It's (the trial, ed) open," he said.

"So if there are people who want to cover up the investigation process in such ways, it's useless. Because in the investigation everything will be clearly revealed," he concluded.
