The End Of The Journey Of A Methamphetamine Courier Who Claims To Be Paid IDR 30 Million Per 1 Kg Once Delivered

JAKARTA - The North Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit arrested JM and MT, two suspected couriers of 2 kilograms of methamphetamine when they were in action in the West Jakarta area.

"They are couriers, each time they deliver IDR 30 million per kilo. One kilo is IDR 30 million means that if he brings 2 kilos is IDR 60 million", said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Guruh Arif Darmawan, to reporters, Monday, September 20.

Guruh said that from the confessions of the suspects, the two JM and MT couriers were paid IDR 30 million per kg each time they were delivered. And the two suspects also admitted that they had been drug couriers several times within a year.

Guruh explained that the two drug couriers used the money for their daily lives.

"The money is used for daily life, including to use methamphetamine. Because the urine test results are positive, he is a user", he said.

From the arrest, his party has secured evidence of narcotics of methamphetamine weighing 2 kilograms, one unit of digital scales, and 3 mobile phones for transactions.

Until now, the police are still hunting for the owner and the buyer of the methamphetamine which will be delivered by the two couriers.

"(Methamphetamine) is distributed from the DPO (people search list) with the initials A, which we are currently developing. We are still hunting for buyers", he said.

The two perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 sub-sider Article 112 paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Indonesian Narcotics. With the threat of life imprisonment or a minimum sentence of 5 years and a fine of 1 billion or a maximum of IDR 10 billion.
